Mary K. Temple | CCS Board President

February 11, 2017

Mary K. Temple is a former elementary school teacher, home maker and church organist. Raised in Salt Lake City she began her own musical training on the piano at the age of five. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Utah in 1964. She has always felt a kinship with the St. George community, because her ancestors were among the first pioneers here.

Mary K. is the mother of four children, each of whom received early musical training. She spent nearly 30 years living in the Philadelphia area where her love of music and the arts flourished. She was a patron of the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra, and Peter Nero’s Philly Pops. She and her husband, Tony, moved to St. George in 2008. Actively involved in supporting local music and theater venues, she has served on the DSU Celebrity Concert Series Board since 2012.  She serves as the Board President for the 2016-17 Season.

William Bluhm | President Elect

February 11, 2017

Bill Bluhm graduated from the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University with a major in marketing and market research and minors in accounting, economics and mathematics. He has worked in market research in Silicon Valley with several hi-tech firms. Currently, Bill is President and CEO of the company he co-founded 23 years ago as a bulk merchandising operator catering to the Department Store industry in 19 states across the country. The youngest of four boys and the son of a professional musician, Bill acquired a love for music early in life. His Father was a woodwind specialist who worked diligently to replicate the sounds of Big Band music legends: Pete Fountain, Artie Shaw, Jimmy Dorsey and Woody Herman. Bill’s Dad used every opportunity to expose his children to these great Big Band masters by taking them to live performances at a nearby University to see the above mentioned as well as: Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Buddy Rich and Doc Severinsen. At the age of 8, Bill began drum lessons and played in various bands and orchestras throughout middle and high school while competing in State and Solo Contest in various ensembles and on various percussive instruments. Bill has always been a supporter of the arts and enjoys all genres of music and types of live performances. He resides in Santa Clara with his wife Elizabeth and has three grown children and three grandchildren.

Ron Snow | Public Relations

February 11, 2017

After formative years and education in the Southern U.S., I met St. George native Sharon Pitchforth who was working on the East Coast. After we were wed, I heeded the call to my ancestral Dixie roots and opened the first ophthalmology practice in St. George. Our four children were born and reared here and we enjoyed supporting them in many musical, dance and theatrical opportunities in high school, the community, and beyond. We share a love of quality artistic programs and appreciate the fantastic talented group of individuals who make things happen here in many different venues. The Celebrity Concert Series brings a wide variety of exceptional talent to our area and we are happy to have a part in support of the performing arts here in Dixie.
