Mary K. Temple is a former elementary school teacher, home maker and church organist. Raised in Salt Lake City she began her own musical training on the piano at the age of five. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Utah in 1964. She has always felt a kinship with the St. George community, because her ancestors were among the first pioneers here.
Mary K. is the mother of four children, each of whom received early musical training. She spent nearly 30 years living in the Philadelphia area where her love of music and the arts flourished. She was a patron of the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra, and Peter Nero’s Philly Pops. She and her husband, Tony, moved to St. George in 2008. Actively involved in supporting local music and theater venues, she has served on the DSU Celebrity Concert Series Board since 2012. She serves as the Board President for the 2016-17 Season.
